چکیده

Plastic structural analysis may be applied without any difficulty and with little effort for member verifications regard to lateral torsional buckling of doubly symmetric rolled I sections. Suchlike analyses can performed based on the plastic zone theory, specifically using finite beam elements seven degrees freedom 2nd order theory considering material nonlinearity. The existing Eurocode enables these approaches coming-up generation will provide corresponding regulations in EN 1993-1-14. investigations allow determination computationally accurate limit loads, which are determined present paper selected systems different sets parameters, such as length, steel grade cross section types. results compared approximations gained by more sophisticated FEM (commercial software Ansys Workbench applying solid elements) reasons verification/validation. Generalized Warping In Flexural-Torsional Buckling Analysis of Composite Beams

The finite element method is employed for the flexural-torsional linear buckling analysis of beams of arbitrarily shaped composite cross-section taking into account generalized warping (shear lag effects due to both flexure and torsion). The contacting materials, that constitute the composite cross section, may include a finite number of holes. A compressive axial load is applied to the beam. The...

Lateral Torsional Buckling of Steel Thin-Walled Beams with Lateral Restraints

Metal thin-walled members have been widely used in building industry. Usually they are utilized as purlins, girts or ceiling beams. Due to slenderness of thin-walled cross-sections these structural members are prone to stability problems (e.g. flexural buckling, lateral torsional buckling). If buckling is not constructionally prevented their resistance is limited by buckling strength. In practi...

Lateral-torsional buckling resistance of cold-formed high strength steel rectangular hollow beams

Hollow sections have been widely used for steel structures. Applications of High Strength Steel (HSS) on cold-formed hollow sections lead to thinner and lighter structures. This paper presents numerical investigations on the lateral-torsional buckling resistance of the cold-formed high strength steel rectangular hollow beam. Results from finite element analysis using Abaqus software are compare...
